Circular Economy Committee discusses new models for waste packaging recycling

With the support of relevant national ministries and commissions, the China Packaging Federation’s circular economy professional committee officially announced its establishment in Beijing today. China is now the third largest packaging country in the world and a developing country with a very low natural resource per capita. How can we maximize the benefits of minimum consumption of resources and environmental costs in the production of packaging products and how to increase the social recovery rate of packaging waste? And recycling utilization has attracted widespread attention from relevant parties. Shi Wanpeng, president of the China Packaging Federation, said that the establishment of the Circular Economy Professional Committee marked that China's packaging industry has taken a far-reaching and substantial step toward building a sustainable society. The committee will integrate relevant resources in the packaging field and strive for support from the government, scientific research institutions and social organizations. It will establish a core principle of “reduction, reuse and recycling” in the packaging industry, focusing on the efficient use and recycling of resources. , To analyze the whole life cycle as the carrier of development, and to use clean production as an important means of green packaging production, consumption and recycling recycling systems, to promote the continuous, rapid and healthy development of the packaging industry. The newly-established circular economy professional committee will serve as a cross-regional and cross-sectoral national industrial organization that will coordinate the power of relevant enterprises and institutions in the packaging field and obtain support from the government, scientific research institutions, and social organizations, focusing on the whole life cycle of the packaging products. Cultivate the concepts and models of conservation-oriented and sustainable development, and promote recycling of waste packaging.
