Ministry of Environmental Protection: Three Environmental Protection Standards for Paper Packaging Industry Implemented on April 1

From April 1st, three environmental standards for the paper packaging industry began to be implemented. According to the notice of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, these three standards are environmental protection industry standards, which were approved by the State Environmental Protection Administration on December 21, 2007.

The three standards are "Paper Industry" for Environmental Protection Acceptance Specifications for Construction Projects, "Copy of Environmental Labeling Product Technical Requirements," and "Standards for Packaging Bags, Containers, and Warning Signs for Medical Wastes." The first two standards are guidelines. Standards, the third criterion has the effect of enforcement. Among them, the “Construction Project Environmental Protection Acceptance Specification for Paper Industry” was formulated for the protection of the environment and the acceptance of environmental protection inspection and acceptance of construction projects for the paper industry. The “Environment Labeling Product Technical Requirements Copy Paper” is formulated to encourage copy paper production companies to effectively use and conserve resources, reduce the adverse effects of copy paper on the environment and human health in the process of production, use, and disposal, and improve the quality of the environment. “Standards for Special Bags, Containers, and Warning Signs for Medical Waste” are established for the prevention and control of environmental pollution during the collection, temporary storage, transportation, and disposal of medical waste, prevention of disease transmission, and protection of human health.
