Spanish cans made of plastic

According to the Spanish "National" report, Spanish scientists have recently developed a plastic canned box that can extend the shelf life of foods. The new plastic cans can replace traditional metal cans.

Ramon Catara, the facilitator of this technology, Valencia's Institute of Agrochemicals and Food Technology in Valencia, Spain, said: “We have achieved many important results in the laboratory, but we can only prove this by entering the actual production stage. Whether the material can compete with canned products on the market today."

Joseph Toledas, a Spanish expert at DuPont, said: "This new type of material can cut off the way air, sunlight, moisture or other microbes enter the interior of the container."

Katala also pointed out: "There is no ideal can box material. But from a hygiene point of view, the best material should be glass, but its disadvantage is that it can not block the sun."

Both Katara and Toldass pointed out that glass cans are too heavy, fragile, and difficult to transport, making it difficult to attract users. This has led many companies to look to new plastics.
