U.S. launches new liquid crystal polymer food packaging materials

Recently, Ticona USA introduced VeetranL to the market. Cps liquid crystal polymer, which is highly impervious to oxygen, water vapor, and fragrance, can be extruded together with conventional packaging resins for retort pouch multilayer films and rigid materials for thermoformed discs and lids. It can also be made into a very thin film of 2.5 μm for use in food and medical packaging where high shielding is required.
