Workflow and system architecture

Most of the traditional workflows are carried out by hand, and the prepress process is very long; the current work flow is almost always computerized; digital photography may take over the work of scanning in the future. (It cannot be completely replaced, but the probability of using It became very high. Like after this DRUPA, the question that I asked most was not that the CTP is not a digital press, but a digital camera. It was completely completed in the computer and went directly to digital printing.

CTP

CTP has already appeared very early, but it has only recently been emphasized because of advances in computer technology.

1. Plate: Plates are classified into Photographic and Thermal. The so-called light-sensitive plate means that the plate starts to react as long as it is irradiated with light. Therefore, more images are accumulated in the overlapping portion of the light or the halo around the light beam, which may easily cause distortion. The thermal plate must be printed after reaching a certain temperature, and it does not change due to light intensity, so the image is sharp and the quality is more stable than the light.

2. Principle of laser: divided into visible light (for darkroom) and invisible light (for brightroom).

3. Plate making machine structure: There are inner roller type and outer roller type. Comparing the two types of rollers inside and outside, the outer roller is the same in principle as the printed version, so it is higher in accuracy than the inner roller.

4. Workflow: RIP Once and PDF. RIP is a process that is interpreted from Postscript files into Halftone. The advantage of PDF is that the transmission, proofing, modification, output, and printing of files can all be done in electronic form.

5. CTP import timing: CTP is not suitable for the output center, the most important is for the printing plant. The main purpose is to save time, labor, improve quality, reduce print loss, and simplify management.
