When you are making a printer icc, you need to use a spectrophotometer to measure the color card file printed by the printer.
These color card files include:
TC2.83RGB (used in conventional RGB printers, including most A3 and A4 format inkjet printers)
TC9.18RGB (used in high-end inkjet printers, including large format inkjet printers, photo printing, digital film clips, RGB mode photo machine, thermal transfer, etc.)
IT8 / 7.3CMYK (used by ps inkjet printers and laser printers, including digital proofing equipment, CMYK mode photo printing equipment, printing, etc.)
ECI2002CMYK (used by ps inkjet printers and laser printers, including digital proofing equipment, CMYK mode photo inkjet printing equipment, printing, etc., with better color distribution than IT8 / 7.3CMYK)
It is recommended to use the four color cards on our website (in accordance with the measurement requirements of our spectrophotometer). Except for TC2.83RGB, one of the other color cards has roll paper, A3 format, and A4 format. Distinguish (the number of color patches of each format is the same, but the size of each file is different, and the arrangement of the color cards is different). Each format includes several files (3-5, all printed). It is recommended to use A4 format for document printing, which is more flexible and more convenient for measurement and mailing.
Before opening the color card, it is necessary to make simple settings for photoshop and the sub-printers in the system, so as not to cause the color conversion of the printed color card.
1. Photoshop settings Open the Photoshop color setting panel, set as follows (inside the red frame):
2. Color management settings of printers in the system:
Open the control panel / printer / select the printer you want to use, right click / properties / color management, delete the color management icc file, as shown below:
Now, you can open the color card file.
If the color card file is opened after pressing Yanqiu settings above, the dialog box shown below will pop up. Please be sure to select "Keep As It Is", and do not modify the resolution, size and make any color adjustments.
When printing in Photoshop, first select the print and preview options panel / monitor options (or advanced), set as shown in the figure below (inside the red frame), do not zoom.
(Photoshop version is different, the text content and location here are also different, but please note that this means using the document's own icc settings).
When printing, you must also set up the printer program, as shown below (here is the very common EPSONR210 for demonstration, other printers and so on):
The focus is on two parts (in the two red boxes above):
1. The paper selection is the type of printing paper you are using (plain paper is not acceptable, not for printing pictures), and it must be the same as your paper. If you need multiple icc files on different papers, please print the color card files on different papers and make different icc files separately. They cannot be mixed.
Remember the print quality you choose (the second item), icc made in the future is based on this print quality.
2. Select ICM and choose No Color Adjustment, and select this setting when printing in the future.
After receiving the icc file that has been produced and printed, put it in the folder specified by the system as follows:
pc computer, 98, 98se, me system, put the icc file in windows \ system \ color;
For 2000 and XP systems, put the icc file in winNT \ system32 (or system) \ spool \ drivers \ color;
For NT systems, the icc file is placed in winNT \ system32 \ color.
Mac computer, OS9 before system, icc file is placed in colorsync;
OSX system, placed in Library \ colorsync \ profiles \ corresponding display, input and output folders
Then open the control panel / printer / select the printer you want to use, right click / properties / color management, load icc into color management, as shown below:
After the setting is completed, the rest is to select the set icc file in the color setting / work space of photoshop, which is familiar to everyone.
