Swiss company invents "health-care" bottle caps

BioGaia, a Swiss former life cycle company, has developed a cap for PET bottles that can release ingredients such as probiotics and vitamins to beverages. An unnamed French company will take the lead in using this patented design that has become the LifeTop cap for the French and Belgian product markets. This type of reform is delivered after LIFTTOP stems, which are used to release protozoa into the beverage by piercing the carton. BioGaia said that the recent delivery mechanism has provided a rapidly growing beverage market opportunity to create new products that cannot be used in a beverage formula with sensitive ingredients. This reform is still outside the pure health care components, and the caps can be coloured and seasoned.

Marketing manager Peter Rothschild said: "A lot of companies provide health care products to the market, but few people have succeeded in finding simple, exciting and practical packaging methods. We expect to sell LIFTTOP caps to many beverage manufacturers." Made with protective foam, it will be the first to be introduced in France in autumn.
