Reverso Tribute Enamel -Georges Seurat,A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte
Flip series enamel wrist watch - Georges Seurat "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte "
In order to display the exquisite decoration on the front of the watch, Jaeger-LeCoultre's guilloché master craftsman uses an old century-old lathe, and the operation of the lathe requires a very sophisticated and sophisticated technique. The guilloché on the dial is composed of tiny rhombuses, which give an impressive three-dimensional impression under the translucent underside of the dark green. In order to make this hue perfectly echoed on the back of the dial, the artisan needs to spend hours researching.
If the front face of the dial is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, then flipping the dial, the enamel microdrawing hidden on the back of the dial is even more impressive.
A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte was created by the famous painter George Shira (1859-1891), this beautiful and moving painting was created between 1884 and 1886. Can be described as a model for the painting school. Shura is a French artist of the New Impressionist painting, who stood out in the 19th century painting circle. Originally as an oil painting, it was 2 meters high and 3 meters wide. He spent two years, and after drawing more than 60 sketches before and after he completed the final draft. The paintings depict the beautiful scenery of the riverside of Seine-et-Marne in the outskirts of Paris. This is a great place for Parisians to feel comfortable and enjoy the nature. Dot painting removes the traditional method of color painting. Instead, it forms a picture by using tiny, different color points, and the viewer's eyes naturally “mix” these colors into one.
In order to produce this micro-painting work, master craftsmen in Métiers Rares® workshops must overcome many challenges. First of all, it is necessary to reduce the original size of more than 3 meters wide and attach it to the dial with an area of only 3 square centimeters. In addition, master craftsmen also need to use their original point color techniques to show micro-painting effect. For example: He designed and made a very thin and extremely hard brush as a tool, and he must always change it in the process of drawing miniatures. The process of displaying point-paintings in the craftsmanship process is extremely complicated. After completing the micro painting, several layers must be superimposed on it for protection. If there is slight negligence, the color shades of the painting may be deviated. Therefore, in the production of enamel micropainting, it is necessary to use a color that is deeper than the original color in order to obtain the desired effect. Therefore, it takes more lengthy attempts and explorations.
It takes more than 70 hours to complete this work, which does not include hours of research time for getting the perfect color.

Reverso Tribute Enamel–Inspired by a painting by Xu Beihong
Flip series enamel wrist watch - inspiration from Xu Beihong's painting as <br> Jaeger large workshop hoping to work out a perfect interpretation of the majestic momentum and unique charm of Chinese ink painting.
Watch The dial is decorated with a long line of geometric patterns guilloche, delicate and unique, and then covered with milky ivory enamel, showing a soft effect like a mother of pearl.
Xu Beihong (1895-1953) was a prominent Chinese painter in the 20th century. He is known for his expertise in Chinese painting, oil painting, drawing, pastel painting and calligraphy. In China, his horse paintings are highly sought after. The original "Chunshan Ten Diagrams" vividly displayed ten horses with different postures in the landscape of China. The Master of Craftsmanship drew inspiration from the two horses in the painting and designed the miniature painting of this watch.
There are also many challenges in the production of this watch. How to reproduce the brush strokes under multiple protective layers and the smooth and light inspiration of ink and wash, while retaining the original charm and impetus, is a great challenge. Therefore, after many hours of research, the master craftsman found the right strokes to show the horse's vitality and dynamics. Another challenge is to depict the details of the horse, such as flying mane. It is worth noting that for the master craftsmen who are good at creating colorful colors, using only black and white to create monochrome paintings can be described as the biggest challenge.
The completed micro painting succeeded in capturing the imposing and energetic posture of the galloping horse. At the same time, it also witnessed the extraordinary talents of the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshop master craftsman.

Reverso Tribute Enamel–Katsushika Hokusai,The Great Wave off Kanagawa
Flip series enamel wrist watch - Katsushika Hokusai "surfing in Kanagawa"

The guilloché on the front of the dial is a delicate, wavy, echoing the painting on the back. The dial is covered with a layer of deep blue translucent enamel, and its blue symbolizes the sea in the painting “Kanagawa Surf”.
Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was a Japanese ukiyo-e painting master and was known for his series of works entitled "Feiyue Sanshijing" on wooden boards. This series of works has become a representative classic because it first incorporated the perspective concepts derived from Western painting into the theme of traditional Japanese painting. “Kanagawa Surf” is one of a series of “36 Scenes of Fuyue”, which makes Katsushika North known for its reputation in Japan. Jaeger-LeCoultre craft masters draw inspiration from this painting and decorate the back of the Reverso Tribute Enamel flip watch.
Depicting the details of the work with exquisite techniques is often a challenge. It is no easy task to reproduce the blue sky with smooth and innocent strokes on the back of the case. In addition, the master craftsman also needs to consider the perfect color of the painting, and even constitute the tiny details of the undulating waves and spray droplets. Therefore, when making this watch, it is necessary to present delicate details comparable to the pointillism, and it is also necessary to use a brushstroke.
The Reverso flip series watch of Jaeger-LeCoultre Mega Workshop is the most ideal "canvas". Its reversible dial can be decorated by the master craftsman, and the masterpieces can be reproduced through the enamel micro-drawing.
