Metal substrates are generally subjected to two processes of glazing and forming after printing. The purpose of the bright varnish is to protect the ink film, increase the gloss of the print, make the product more beautiful, and enhance the ability to withstand bending and mechanical impact during can processing.
First, the stamping process
Metal packaging containers, whether they are boxes or cans, are molded from the molding process by the principle of metal stamping and undergoing two processes of separation and plastic deformation.
The separation process is a stamping process in which the stampings and the sheets are separated from each other along the desired contour line, and a certain section quality is obtained. The separation process often includes operations such as cutting, blanking, punching, slitting, trimming, and cutting.
The plastic deformation process is a press working method in which the stamped blank is shaped and deformed without breaking to obtain a desired shape and dimensional accuracy. There are usually three types of bending, stretching, and forming. Bending includes bending, curling, twisting, bending, rolling, bending, bending and the like; stretching is mainly drawing and thinning; there are many forming methods, including turning, flanging, flaring, Shrinking, forming, crimping, bulging, spinning, shaping, and school equality operations.
Second, the canning process
The traditional manufacturing method of the metal packaging can is: firstly cutting the metal sheet blank into squares, then rolling the blank into a cylinder (ie, a cylinder) and then soldering the formed longitudinal bonding wires to form a side sealing, one of the cylinders. The ends (i.e., the bottom of the can) and the rounded end caps are mechanically flanged and rolled (i.e., double crimped seams) to form the can body; the other end is sealed with the can after the product is loaded. Since the container is composed of a tank bottom, a can body and a can lid, it is called a three-piece can. This kind of can making method has not changed much in the past 150 years, but the degree of automation and processing precision have been greatly improved. In recent years, the weld of the side seal has been changed to fusion welding.
A new canning principle emerged in the early 1970s. According to this principle, the can body and the bottom of the can are a whole, which is stamped from a circular slab blank, and is sealed after being placed in the product, that is, a two-piece can. There are two molding methods for this type of can: stamping - thinning stretching (ie, punching) and stamping - re-punching (ie, deep drawing). These technologies are not new in themselves. The punching method was used to make bullet casings in the First World War. The difference between the cans is the use of ultra-thin metal and the high speed of production (up to hundreds of millions of annual production).
