In layman's terms, this number is the reference size of the rack surface of the paper pusher to the joint surface of the paper press and the knife edge when the Hall element on the nut seat passes through the fixed magnet. Therefore, if there is an error between the displayed size and the actual cut size, you can adjust it by toggling the up and down position of the dial switch of a certain number according to the size of the error.
